The new curriculum-reform has been carried out throughout our country, which aims at cultivating students to form positive attitude of learning and the learning ability of both dependent and independent learning. It is also expected that students can form the right personal value and scientific characteristic at the same time when learning basic knowledge and techniques. The implementation of curriculum reform applied in biology has a vital impact on the development of students’characteristics. But it has not worked well. One of the reasons is that the old teaching strategies, teaching methods and teaching modes are still used in the biological classes nowadays, which is not suitable for the newly-developed biology curriculum teaching. It has been an important topic for all the teachers that how to modify teaching methods; improve teaching modes and quality in order to make teaching advanced with the times.One studying mode based on constructionist and multi-intelligence theory is a zetetic mode widely applied abroad. But in China the first application of’Project-based Learning’starts later and still in progress of improvement. After studying some related books and papers, it shows that there are only a few cases related to teaching in biology curriculum. So the author try to apply this mode to biology teaching in High-school and it will be discussed in both theoretical and practical aspects.In the aspect of theoretical analysis, Project-based studying is first studied by literature research. Furthermore, the analysis is based on the characteristics of Project-based studying. At last, it is discussed with the features of biology classes nowadays in order to explore whether it is suitable for teaching in biology in High-school.In the practical aspects, this teaching mode discussed above is first used in classroom and improved during practical teaching. And then’biology-specific’studying mode will be constructed. The specific operation of this mode is provided by a teaching case in which a first-class teacher is used as a reference to test the effectiveness of this mode. The teaching experiment was carried out in two second year parallel-classes of No.3High school of Pingyang. In the classes in which experiments were carried out the’Project-based teaching mode’was applied. Normal teaching is carried out in the classes for contrast. the students’performance and study interest is used as tested items. In this section, z-test is used to show the notable difference to show the effectiveness of the’Project-based teaching mode’practically.After the’Project-based mode’is analyzed theoretically and discussed practically, it shows that this mode is a kind of new teaching mode that suitable for biology teaching in High school. This new mode can effective help cultivate practical ability and give out a new teaching mode to change the current situation in which the biology teaching applied in nowadays classroom is monotonous...
