In Kuhn’s view, (theoretical) paradigm is the first theory in one subject or one research area, that is the first principle or axiom in the subject or the research field. It is the theoretical core or foundation of the theory system(subject paradigm) in the subject.“Education is what?”“What is education”, this is the first theoretical problem of pedagogy. The different answers of the problem, may form different theory paradigm of pedagogy. Education has essential, the essence of education is generated, developed, so the essence of education is diverse, such as: educate as the dialogue, educate as guide, educate as life, educate as game, educate as communicate, etc. This paper stands firmly on the standpoint of pedagogy, demonstrates the essence of communicational education. So,“educate as communicate”could be a basic theoretical paradigm of pedagogy. Any theory is not a panacea, cannot solve all the problems. Therefore, the paper also discusses educational value and its scope of application of the basic theory. Finally, from the basic theory, to explore some other basic theoretical issues of pedagogy, and make some early, preliminary discussion of the subject paradigm about the educational communication theory.The full text is divided into four parts:Introduction: mainly elaborated this topic causes, the main issues and content of this paper, significance and value of this paper, and briefly introduces the research ideas, methods and the heavy difficulty, innovation.The first chapter: educate as communicate. Firstly, analyzed the meaning and characteristics of“communication”, summed up communication has the meaning of education in this process. Secondly, from the perspective of education to analyze and demonstrate“educate as communicate”. Finally, clarifies the relation about the theory of educational communication and the theory of communicational education.The second chapter:Inquire into the value, function and limitation about the theory of educational communication. First of all, from the communication is the regression of education’s human nature and intersubjectivity is the value demand of the theory about educational communication. Secondly, from knowledge, skill, intelligence, emotion, moral and other aspects to analyze the function and limitation of educational communication theory.The third chapter: under the guidance of educational communication theory to study the problem of pedagogy again. This part mainly from the view of object, process, teach, and the relation of teachers and students to discuss the basic problem of education under the guidance of educational communication theory.
