Research On The College Students’ Ecological Personality Cultivation

The21th century is an era with outstanding environmental problems. As the process of industrialization is becoming faster, a series of problems are increasingly being to exist. Among them, the environmental problems such as greenhouse effect, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources are the common problems that we human must face. People refer the hazards hatched by these environmental problems as ecological crisis. Then, people bring home lessons painfully learned and are beginning to search for the deep reason behind the ecological crisis. It’s been known that the essence of environmental problem is the development problem and the ecological crisis is essentially the crisis of human beings. Therefore, some scholars are calling for the ecological personality cultivation. The ecological personality is a kind of all round development personality with the purpose of keeping the harmony between human and nature. As the college students are the the pioneers of the era, it’s required to cultivate college students’ ecological personality for building ecological civilization society.At the beginning, this paper gave some definitive concepts such as ecological personality, introduced their research status till now and the value and meaning of the research. Base on these works, then discussed these concepts from four different aspects, that’s the realistic basis for introducing ecological personality, the theoretical basis of the ecological personality being to exist, the main content of ecological personality and the cultivation of ecological personality. Firstly, the era basis for cultivating ecological personality have been analyzed from there sides: the urgency of resolving ecological crisis, the inevitable choice for building harmonious society and the contemporary college students’ realistic requirement for healthy personality. Secondly, based on the theory of cultivating ecological personality, theoretical basis were described using the Marx’s sentences about dialectical relation between nature and human beings, and the doctrine about all round development about human beings. And then borrowed some ideas from China’s traditional ecological ethics concepts, Western ecological ethics concepts and concepts about education in life. Thirdly, the paper explored the contents of the ecological personality cultivation from three aspects which are the ecological way of thinking, ecological belief and ecological behavior. Finally, ways of cultivating college students’ ecological personality have been described. The ecological personality cultivation requires not only the schools’ and all social sectors’ cooperation, but also the initiatives from college students themselves, and only then, the ecological personality cultivation can falls to the real point.
