English teaching is not only a process of the language teaching but also a process of communicating feelings. The positive affective factors are becoming an important aspect and core content that the English teaching of rural senior school can’t neglect. English curriculum standard for senior school puts forward that the language learning process should make the students develop an active emotion attitude so as to stir up and develop the students’ interest in learning English and set up the students’self-confidence. The learners’ affective attitude directly influences their learning actions and outcome. The emotion factors have the position of equal importance with intelligence factors in the study activity. However, the current countryside English teaching seriously neglects affective factors and the relation between the emotion and cognition, which greatly contributes to raising the language study result.Based on the related theory of affect in language learning associated with the reality of the countryside English teaching, this thesis is to study the value of emotion itself function in the English teaching with questionnaires and teaching experiments contrast and interview method to probe how the related emotion factors influence the village student in English study.The author selected135senior middle school students from two different classes of grade three at No.3Senior Middle School of Xinzhou District Wuhan City. In the study, the research used the qualitative data to illuminate and supplement the quantitative data. The main findings are as follows:Combining affection and cognition in English teaching is helpful to improve teaching efficiency; The infiltration of positive affective teaching is beneficial for building up students’learning attitudes; which can inspire them to learn English actively and with great passion; The concordance between teacher and students can also be improved.With these findings the author put forward some suggestions on the ways and strategies to infiltrate the positive affective factors into the countryside English teaching and at the same time try to build up an effective teaching model. The research is designed to promote the all-round development of village students, raise English teaching result and move forward the sustainable development of the countryside English education. What’s more, the research would play an important theoretical role in developing the theory affection psychology and cognitive psychology.
