Through the participatory ethnography investigation, this article studies a case about HEAVEN Karaoke Club in Shanghai to analyze the segmentation, government and production of urban entertainment space. On the one hand, I record whatever I saw and heard in HEAVEN; on the other hand, I write my own feelings and experiences. So this paper uses the first person form and views "me" as an object and phenomenon. With the case of HEAVEN Karaoke Club, the study is trying to break the simple thinking mode of binary opposition and explore the inner link of production and consumption of entertainment space in Shanghai.Due to the common interests of law enforcement and business operators who are looking for maximum benefit, Xintiandi is ambiguous. The long corridor of HEAVEN is a channel rather than a distance. Also, the distance of the corridor is an attitude to meet consumers rather than reject them. The moving reception desk and convenient mobile phones are the extension of the corridor. The extension of the corridor and itself are the enter channels to meet another class for the workers in the entertainment space. However, the physical intimacy and close relationship between two classes made it more difficult to flow. Space not only reflects the relationship between people, but also shapes the relationship. Space can not be replaced from this location to that location, but it is also a kind of media that participates deeply in the process of interaction.In the entertainment space, the power mechanism of the surveillance society operates by network structures instead of simple one-way linear. The pyramid step by step and the ring structure connected head by tail constitute the power with a kind of mutual nested manner. The deviant behavior of managers and waiters in HEAVEN will be influenced by the level of punishment, but the content provides the basis for them to establish a set of prevention mechanism, then makes the anomie and deviant behavior more difficult to exposure. Whether the legal system which maintains the national machine stable, or management system in HEAVEN, if external social control can’t be internalized as individual value system, it is unable to constrain the deviant behavior.With the time passed by, people have the condensed spatial cognition. The experience includes not only the conscious memory, but also the subconscious dream and mind. Only the producers will have the working screen of entertainment space in the dream to reflect the subconscious mind. The space experience of producers’dream and memory is built on the continuous production communication and practice. Xintiandi cannot survive without the consumption group, but the production of the waiters is the water for Xintiandi field. They live in the old residential areas in ZhaoZhou Road and Hefei Road. The living space is formed naturally to be reproduction space for the production of Xintiandi. The circulation system is consisted by reproduction space and production space, and only with the reproduction space, the circulation system is normal.When space is measured as the new scale of the relationship between people, space is no longer only material, real, specific, as an object, but a kind of media, produces the relationship. Therefore, it is also spiritual, imagined, abstract, as a metaphor. Space expresses the human emotion. It is the accumulation of experience and the debris of memory. Space goes for a stroll in the corridor of Time on free, and Time also leaves print in the Space. Because of the ambiguousness, fragment and emptiness of space, the metropolis entertainment space can carry more significance that refer to and is referred to, not just across the edge and center, broken and complete, individual and group, rural and urban, tradition and modern, consumption and production, old and new, inner and outer.
