Emotion regulation consists of some certain strategies and processes responsible for influencing, practicing emotion and the emotional expression process after the emotional arousal. The development of emotion regulation plays an important role in the early processes of socialization development especially the peer relationships, and has an inherent relationship with inhibitory control.Recently, some researchers have discussed that emotion regulation strategy have important effect on peer acceptance and inhibitory control is a predominant influence in the difference in the emotion regulation strategy usage. Thus, in this research, based on the features of emotion regulation strategy analysis in4-6years old children, we still study the relations between emotion regulation strategy and peer acceptance. And at last, four inhibitory control task were used to assess children’s compentence of inhibitory control. The results of the study showed:(1)There is no remarkable difference in4-6years old children’s emotion regulation strategies’ composite scores. Children aged5to6use alternative action more than the younger ones. The usage of another five emotion regulation strategies in two age group have no remarkable difference.(2)Emotion regulation strategies’ scores can predict the peer acceptance level. The different emotion regulation strategies have influence on the peer acceptance.whether the control of the age or not, Passive dealing and venting strategies is positively correlated with peer acceptance. self-comfort strategy and peer acceptance levels have positive significance correlation. (3)The popular children seem likely to choose problem solving, self-comfort and alternative action while unaccepted children and neglected children would select passive dealing and venting strategy.(4) Inhibitory Control levels can predict the children’ emotion regulation strategies’ composite scores and emotion regulation strategies’ composite scores mediate the relationship between the Inhibitory Control and peer acceptance.(5)In high level inhibitory control, children group seem likely to choose problem solving, alternative action and self-comfort.the popular children accounts for the highest percentage in this group. Finally, based on this research and results of survey, we give some relevant recommendations about how to improve children’s inhibitory control, emotion regulation strategy and peer acceptance from the angels of focusing on the children’s emotional response, strengthening their inhibitory control ability and using suitable methods to evaluate children.
