Video In The Teaching Of Geography

The audio-visual teaching theory is provided by Dell, anAmerican educator. Dell is also the author of the book “Audio-visualteaching method of the theory”. Audio-visual teaching has been a hotarea of academic study of educational technology at home andabroad. Chinas educational circles have achieved remarkableachievements in the theoretical study of audio-visual teaching. With thedevelopment of technology and the popularity of multimediatechnology in education and teaching process, the audio-visualteaching theory has widely used in practice. Video teaching, as animportant branch of the audio-visual teaching, has been a widespreadconcern, but it has not yet formed as a systematic theory and a strictuse standard.Video teaching research is mainly about how to use video toassist teachers in teaching activities and student learning based onmodern technology and equipment. With its innate characteristics andthe advantages of teaching content visualization, video has beenmore and more popular by the teachers and students. It is proved thatthe reasonable use of video in teaching will receive good learningresults. This paper based on video used in geography teaching willanalyze the important value of video applications in teaching.
