Distinguished from the nationally compiled materials,local education materials mainly introduce the local geography、history、culture and ethical conditions. The origrin of the local education materials stemed from the Qing Dynasty. Much emphasis had been put on the development of the local education materials since the founding of new China. The principal position of the local government and school on the management of curriculums was established in the curricular reform in2001. In the Report to the17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, President Hu Jintao also emphasized the importance of the exploration and protection of the national culture. Under the background, Enshi Autonomous Prefecture paid great attention to the implementation of local education materials. The development and implementation of local education materials play a pivotal role in the experience of the native students and the heritance of Enshi’s national culture.The research selected G Miao Village Primary School as the investigation site. Investigation was carried out by means of field visits. Situations about G Miao Village Primary School and Xianfeng County were introduced. Detailed introduction of the local education materials called "the National Common Sense of Enshi" and "the brochure for the publicity of the folk songs in Xianfeng County" was also given in the dissertation.The current implementation of "the National Common Sense of Enshi" and "the brochure for the publicity of the folk songs of G Miao Village Primary School in Xianfeng County" were investigated. There existed great difference on the application situations of the two books. Through the research on the implementation of the local education materials, we had a conclusion that the fulfillment of government responsibilities、pertinence of local education materials to different regions and students’acceptance of the instruction form all had impacts on the pushing of local education materials.Based on the factors affecting the implementations of local education materials, the author searched for effective ways to stimulate the application. Construction of the system info and management system of local education materials as well as the intervention of the social work were regarded as the main points that can make a contribution. There still existed much deficiency about the research. The research data was not comprehensive with restrictions of time、place and manpower. Representation of the research was not definite. In addition, the effectiveness of the suggestions for promoting the application of local education materials still needs to be validated.
