Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Leisure Sports Major

The leisure society has become a hot topic in the21st century. Many scholars predicted that the leisure era has come. Since the reform and opening up, China’s social productive forces has improved and the working hours of residents decline as production efficiency improves. Thus leisure demand has emerged, in particular, the demand for leisure sports is more high. However, the development of leisure sports industry in China is restricted by the lack of professional talents. Talent training work is very urgent. To solve the problem of talent shortage, Leisure Sports was included in the undergraduate course catalog by the Ministry of Education in2007. To2012, leisure sports major have been enrolled5th batch of students. The enrollment and the establishment of institutions have increased and the development of the major has also improved. However, because of the lack of experience, the current situation also emerged some problems.By using literature review, interviewing, factor analysis, comparative analysis and logical analysis, the paper made an analysis on the current situation of leisure sports major such as enrollment scale, training objectives, direction division and curriculum system, faculty, professional textbooks, evaluation system, employment and so on. It concluded following existing problems:(1) the enrollment is small, can’t meet the market demand;(2) There is no common standard, ignore the type of market demand;(3) Lack of features of required and selective courses;(4) Subjective direction division and didn’t make up the market demand;(5) Quality evaluation system is obsolete;(6)Faculty is not so good;(7)Shortage of professional textbooks;(8) Lack of employment.The paper proposed following countermeasures:(1) Expand enrollment at an early date;(2)Implement a reasonable proportion of courses and research projects;(3) Cultivate tailored market demand talents;(4) perfect required and elective courses with major characteristics;(5) Refine direction division and major depth;(6) Shape the concept of leisure talents, improve the quality evaluation system;(7) Construct master and, PhD point to improve faculty;(8) Improve major textbooks editing to avoid the misusing;(9).Strengthen employment and encourage schools-market cooperation.
