Since the twenty-first century, the quality assurance of teacher education has become the hotspot in the field of education policy research. All the countries in the world formulated and implemented the government policy actively for the quality assurance of teacher education, to promote the teacher education institutions to conduct and manage the teacher education comprehensively and effectively from the aspects of input quality, process quality, output quality, management efficiency and so on, and to establish a rational, effective system of teacher education quality assurance.Based on the background of the history and culture of South Africa, this paper will introduce and study the history and the frame of the South Africa’s policy on the teacher education quality assurance. In the meanwhile, it also discusses the characteristics and existing problems of the teacher education quality assurance policy in South Africa by taking the South Pretoria University as an example, and analyzes the related points on teacher education quality assurance policies between China and South Africa, to extend the study fields of our country for South African education, enrich our teacher education quality assurance theory, and provide some useful references to improve the teacher education quality assurance policy for our country.
