In second language acquisition research, the impact of first language on secondlanguage acquisition, also called native language interference phenomenon, has alwaysbeen the focus of scholars. This impact is divided into two aspects: one is positivetransfer that improves one’s foreign language study and the other is negative transferthat cramps the study. For example, Chinese senior school students’ English learningwas built on the mother tongue Chinese, and the learning course is affected by limitedknowledge and experience of students. This research-analyzed the mistakes in theirEnglish study by the means of language transfer theories, not but grammatical erroranalysis, and found out senior students’ main errors in English study, making certainbreakthroughs in teaching methods and improving students’ learning ability.This research sampled the papers of students taught by the author in ChongqingFirst Diagnose Test and analyzed all the students’ writing section in the test on the basicrequirements of the National English Curriculum Standard for senior high schools. Onthe basis contrastive analysis,error analysis and interlanguage theory, the researchshowed that students lost points in form, diction, syntax and discourse mainly affectedby the negative transfer of Chinese. Some suggestions on English teaching in seniorhigh school was proposed thereby. That is, the phenomenon of negative transfer ofChinese should be treated correctly and positive transfer of Chinese should bestimulated. Secondly, teachers should put emphasis on strengthen students’ basicEnglish knowledge. Thirdly, teachers are required pay attention to the differencesbetween Chinese and English when teaching. Fourthly, students should strengthenwriting exercises to master all kinds of common English words state, form, syntax, etc.and last,students’ reading skill are required to be strengthened to increase culturalrecognition. To make the paper a scientific and reliable one, the author tried the best toconsult related materials as possible during the process of the study, where datacollecting, classifying, sorting out and analyzing the information are the methods used.These all are solid foundation for the proposals for English teaching in the paper.Through classification, statistics and interpretation, this research analyzed the data objectively and made the conclusion reliable and helpful. This study is expected todeliver English teachers in senior high schools reliable enlightenment on their teaching.
