Marx and Dewey as philosopher and educator respectively, whose theory and thought about theeducational philosophy have the valuable reference to the later generations. In recent years, althoughour country promoting education reform continuously, there still exist some problems need to beresolved, and we need to analyze both of their theories again, on one hand, deepening the presenttheory of educational philosophy of our country, in order to provide the theoretical basis for theconstruction of the harmonious society; On the other hand, as to achieve the guiding ideology whichis beneficial to solve the problems of Chinese education, and have the valuable thinking and referenceto the comprehensive development on quality-oriented education and innovation education.First of all, this paper expatiates and analyzes the educational philosophy of Marx. Hiseducational philosophy theory system have a broad range, contains the essence of education, personaldevelopment and the relationships between environment, society and education; Secondly, the papermainly describes Dewey’s educational philosophy; Thirdly, the paper deeply analyzes the similaritiesand differences about Marx and Dewey’s educational philosophy, aims to through the comparativeanalysis, to get the enlightenment for our country’s present social education.The paper’s research method is mainly about the literature study and comparative study, theinnovation point is mainly embodied in two aspects: one is the comparison of Marx and Dewey’seducational philosophy about the similarities and differences comprehensively and systematically; theother is deeply analyzed the enlightenment and significance of their educational philosophy for today.From the comparison of Marx’s and Dewey’s educational philosophy, we can draw on theenlightenment that, first of all, education should put the people’s culture on the first place, and theexistence of other purpose should not be our education guiding ideology; Secondly, on the aspects ofeducation method, we should use practice to master the knowledge and skills; Thirdly, China’simplementation of the education strategy should also put the cultivation of students’ creative abilityand practical ability as the goal; effectively promote the further development of the quality education.
