Classroom questioning is regarded not only as the most common teaching method in mathematical teaching, but also the main form or communication tool for a teacher and students to exchange ideas in classroom. Classroom questioning could stimulate the students’ interest in learning, inspire students’ thinking, provide teachers with feedback information on students’ learning of science knowledge, therefore, help to cultivate the students’ capacity of discovering, dealing with problems and language skills.As a result of lacking relevant knowledge and experience about the classroom questioning, the student teachers are faced with many problems in questioning in class.The paper collected materials on mathematical classroom questioning in primary schools. On analysing these materials, the paper gives a conclusion about the types and functions of the questioning. Meanwhile, on observing the teaching activities about the same content of given by the primary school mathematical student teacher and trainee instructor, the paper concludes the differences between them, thus find the aspects that should be paid attention to by the teachers, therefore, come up with several suggestions for the student teachers who are going to take up the offical post as the fomal teachers.
