Trigonometric function as a typical "double base" teaching in high school is very important. Trigonometric concepts run through the study of trigonometric functions, we emphasize trigonometric applications in mathematics teaching, and triangle identical transformation can be applied to help trigonometric functions to solve practical problems. In this paper, the author tries to conduct a survey on trigonometric cognitive level of high school students based on the SOLO classification theory, from the following three aspects:trigonometric concepts, triangle identical transformation, and trigonometric applications.First, by searching literature, the author sorts out sources, content and applications of SOLO classification theory, and summaries teaching and learning of trigonometric functions, for providing a theoretical basis for further study. Secondly, based on the result of the test and the interview, the author analyzes the situation about students’learning about trigonometric functions. The author finds out that cognitive level of high school students about trigonometric concepts is general, cognitive level about triangle identical transformation is better, and cognitive level about trigonometric applications is poor. Then, through differences and the correlation analysis on trigonometric cognitive level, the result is that there are significant differences in girls than boys at the senior grade and significant differences only in the triangle identical transformation cognitive level distribution at grade three. On this basis, further analysis of the test answer, the author summaries the common errors in the study of trigonometric concepts, triangle identical transformation, and trigonometric applications. Finally, the author proposes teaching enlightenment. The author applies the SOLO classification theory in mathematics teaching in this paper. The author hopes to motivate front-line teachers to study SOLO classification theory, and apply it to teaching for better cognitive development of students.
