Since the end of the20th century, the rural northern Shaanxi marriage and family have occurred great changes. With the development of society and economic, the process of changes in this series, the traditional marriage ceremony gradually simplified, mate way tend to be more in the form of free love, marriage and family become more harmonious. However, some special phenomenon also appeared in this process of changes. Among them, the rural male group difficult to get married is a typical p he no me no n.The rural male groups difficult to get married have become an important factor which troubled northern Shaanxi rural economic and social development. We take the Northern Shaanxi G village as an example, the social transformation, population movements, population policy as the research background, trying to discuss the difficulties, causes and consequences the rural male population in northern Shaanxi encountered in the marriage market according to the natural and geographical environment, socio-economic, gender structure, cultural conditions and social stratification. By relevant theories of Sociology of family, analyzed from a gender perspective caused by groups of men in rural areas the main reason for a wife is difficult and men to avoid single strategy adopted, and the status of the groups of women in the marriage market.Rural male population in northern Shaanxi difficult to get married mainly due to local geographical constraints, economic underdevelopment and imbalance of marriageable age population sex ratio, they are also some important reasons that cause the rural male population in northern Shaanxi difficultly to get married, such as the population movements caused changes in the marriage circle, rigid bride price increases, the changes of cognitive concept to female mate choice and male poor conditions.
