In today’s China, getting married late is becoming a trend. People nowadays chose to build up a family late. However, that is not the case in in the village of S in the south of Hebei province where the proportion of early marriage is still very high. The trend of early marriage does not only exit in S village, it is very common in other local villages. The research method is semi-structured interview, through these interviews, I find that the early marriage proportion of early marriage of the post-90s is indeed very high. According to the analysis of the early marriage in S village through the socio-economic, cultural, individual, domestic and institutional dimensions. First this paper indicates that the custom of early marriage and parents’ responsibility of their children’s marriage are the fundamental causes of early marriage. Second, the post-90s’ mating scope is limited in the local area which is the result of their parents’ unavoidable intervention. And that is because the young in S village depend on their parents due to their lower education and lower income. Thirdly, owing to the high sexual ratio, which makes the unmarried women take more advantages in the marriage market. The unmarried female can require more dowry which makes the marriage cost increase greatly. At the meantime, with the increasing of the marriage cost, the rational men will choose to marry early in order to reduce the cost of marriage. Finally, the lower publicity of relevant laws and rules, low awareness of law and slack supervision of the government also contributed to the occurrence of early marriage. This paper analyzes the impacts of the early marriage from four perspectives. It reveals that the impact on population control is mainly on the early childbearing and bearing many offspring; the impact of marriage stability is the high divorce rate; the early marriage increases economic burden of a family; early marriage fertility causes great harm to the body health of the female.
