The Status Quo Of Group Calisthenics At Sports Meetings

With the development in both spiritual and material civilizations in the newcentury, there has been a booming enthusiasm for sports. Performances of groupcalisthenics have been enthusiastically introduced to the opening ceremoniesof university sports meetings. The success of such performances not only marksthe prelude of sports meetings, but also demonstrates the sports culture of aschool. Such performances have become the highlights of sports meetings as ameans to enrich sportsmanship and promote sports education. They contributetremendously to the enhancement of campus sports culture and quality of education.Therefore, the development of group calisthenics can distinguish a campus fromothers and demonstrate its strength.This paper focuses on the systematic analysis of performances of groupcalisthenics in seven universities in Qingdao, namely, Ocean University of China,Qingdao University, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, QingdaoTechnological University, Qingdao Agricultural University, China University ofPetroleum, and Shandong University of Science and Technology, by means ofliterature consultation, questionnaires, interviews, video analysis,statistical method, and logical analysis. With the summary of the status quo,this paper intends to study the development of group calisthenics, reveal itscorrelation with the building of campus sports culture, provides a theoreticalbasis for its promotion and offers a new perspective to study campus sportsculture.According to the study of status quo, this paper arrives at the followingconclusion:1. Diversity and all-roundness are the features of the trend of modern groupcalisthenics in China. A rational attitude towards it should be encouraged.2. Sports colleges and universities in Qingdao City gymnastics developmentchange is slow, but the overall presentation of continuous development trend.3. The design and creation are at the core group calisthenics.4. The training of group calisthenics has experienced a tremendous functionaltransformation.
