With the development of world economy and frequent exchanges betweencountries, English has become the communication bridge among different people.English writing as one of the most important skills for second language learners alsohas a large proportion in the new English curriculum standard. So English writing is agreat challenge for both teachers and students in the senior high school now. In recentyears, both teachers and students have done a lot of work to improve English writingability. However, the result of these efforts seems far from satisfactory. The authorstarts from the perspective of teachers’ written feedback in the thesis, and she tries tofind out the influence of it on students’ writing ability. At the same time, the authormakes an attempt to find students’ attitude to written feedback through investigationsuch as interview in order to improve their writing ability. It is hoped that this studycan provide some enlightenments and help for teachers and students in writingteaching and learning.In addition, teachers are not directors any more in the classroom. Instead, theyare mediators to help students reach a higher level according to Vygotsky’s andFeuerstein’s theories. The theories are applicable in the English writing teaching.Teachers mediated the written feedback types to teach learners how to learn, to arousetheir interest and enhance their confidence in the writing.Participants of this study are selected from No.11senior high school. And thetwo students in the case study are in Grade Two. According to the nearly five-month research, the author hopes to prove the influence of teachers’ written feedback onstudents’ writing ability and proper written feedback can improve students’ writingability. And then she puts forward some suggestions for English writing teaching inthe senior high school based on the results and analysis of the research.
