With the development of China’s economic, in the late1990s, along with the enrollment of institutions of higher education, key universities, colleges, academies, colleges and universities mushroomed a lot. Like the fierce market competition in the society today, the competition between universities is becoming more and more severe which can be said as commercial competition between enterprises. Therefore, in order to create a good social position and brand image, to increase social awareness and market competitiveness, universities bring in the "university of the visual image recognition system" gradually. However, the visual images created in many universities are not perfect, for there are a lot of problems. Therefore, in the increasingly fiercely competitive environment the universities facing today, the proper implementation of the university of image design (UIS) has strategic importance in creating a good and distinct image of the universities. This article researched from the weakness of identification sense in the university visual identity(VI) design, and then proposed countermeasures in order to better promote the establishment of the university of image system.
