The Research In Current Situation Of Beijing Citizens’ Reading

As the culture center of China, the social reading situation in Beijing hasbeen changing in recent years. Considering the social reading situation inBeijing as the object of study, this thesis tries to analyze the social readingsituation in Beijing and find the potential rules between the press and reading.Focusing on combining the publishing industry and social reading, this thesisdoes research on reading situation from the point of view of publishing, whichis different from past research that either discuss the changes of readingsituation within library scope or study the reading trend in a certain specificgroup.Based on the analysis of social reading situation and the understandingthe readers’reading condition, the article finds out the reason of readingdisorder, analyzes the problem and tries to answer how to solve the existingproblems. For better develop the double benefit of China publishing industrywhich means promoting economic benefit of publishing industry as well associal benefit, the purpose of the article is guiding readers’reading, enrichingreaders’spiritual life and advancing social spirit. Besides, the research methodof the article includes documentary analysis, comparative analysis, etc.The thesis mainly contains the following five parts:First part: combing the concepts about reading, discussing severalquestions relating reading and paying close attention to the study aboutreading in home and abroad in recent years.Second part: summarizing the current social reading situation in recentyears both in China and foreign countries, as well as summing up thepopularizing activities of social reading in home and abroad.Third part: the current situation of social reading in Beijing, overviewingthe research about social reading in Beijing which had been done by agenciesand departments, expounding the launched activities about social reading inBeijing and in some groups, summarizing the traits and reading tendency ofsocial reading in Beijing.Forth part: analyzing the social reading situation in Beijing, finding out thereason which cause the situation and how to handle with it. What’s more, thearticle expounds the influences to publishing industry which reading situationexerts.Fifth part: the main part of the whole thesis. Starting from industry theory,the thesis discusses the dual attributes of publishing industry. Aimed at currentreading situation, the thesis do some research from the point of view ofindustry inside and outside, put forward some suggestions andcountermeasures about how to promote social reading with the purpose thatthe discovery will be beneficial for promoting social reading.
