With the continuous development of China’s economy, maritime shipping becomes more and more frequent. It is very important to ensure the normal navigation of the ship. Ship borne satellite navigation system is essential equipment to navigation while the ship is at sea, which is also decisive significance to the protection of ship navigation. Now the most commonly used shipboard satellite navigation system is based on GPS (Global Positioning System) system. With the gradual establishment of China’s Beidou satellite navigation system, the application of this systems are gradually increased in various fields. Beidou satellite navigation system on the ship-borne navigation is particularly important for China’s economic and national security. This design which is based on Beidou satellite navigation system can be divided into three parts:The first one is the dual-mode receive part of the Beidou/GPS, which is mainly used for receiving the RF signal sent from the Beidou satellite and GPS satellite. And the received information, positioning, time and speed will be transmitted to a standard serial output then to the data receiving and parsing module part to be dealt with. Design circuit through understanding the electrical characteristics of the receiver chip, and eventually come up with the hardware circuit. The second part is the data receiving and parsing module which is primarily used for receiving location information of the data and parses it, and displays the target’s navigation information, then complete the control of the receiver module through the serial port. The third part is the electronic chart display module, which will parse out the navigation information and coordinate conversion, convert into the information displayed on the screen electronic chart. The design uses Protel as tools to achieve hardware circuit and board design, and the production of circuit boards. The results of hardware module can be displayed through the serial port debugging assistant, and then verify the feasibility of hardware modules. the design and implementation of the Software will use Visual C++6.0as a development tool. In Visual C++6.0environment, it will be resolved according to the satellite navigation information standard NEMA-0183(The National Marine Electronics Association) agreements. In order to parse out the results on the electronic chart display, and it will parse out the data and transform the coordinate. The results on the electronic chart display show that this design is feasible.
