Internet of Things is known as the third wave of development of the IT industryfollowing the computer and the Internet. In accordance with the general definition, itrefers to the use of bar codes, radio frequency identification technology, laser scanners, sensors, global positioning system and other information sensing device based on theagreed protocol to provide ubiquitous connectivity for users. It is an integrated part ofFuture Internet and could be defined as a dynamic global network infrastructure withself configuring capabilities based on standard and interoperable communicationprotocols where physical and virtual ‘things’ have identities, physical attributes, andvirtual personalities and use intelligent interfaces, and are seamlessly integrated intothe information network.Since its inception of the concept of the Internet of Things in1999, the degree ofconcern is rising, especially after describing the concept, architecture, technology, applications, markets, challenges and future vision of the Internet of Things in2005inITU’s annual report, the research upsurge of the Internet of Things is setting off. In2009, IBM CEO Samuel J. Palmisano, President Obama and U.S. business leaders helda"roundtable", first proposed the concept of the "Smarter Planet", attracting enormousattention. The same year, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao proposed the concept of"Sensing China" in his inspecting in Wuxi, and soon China writed it to the governmentwork report as one of the top five emerging strategic industries. It is seen as a pushinghand to promote economic and social transformation and development in thepost-financial crisis era.But there is a huge gap between the research status and the concern heat, mainly inthe following aspects: some of the key technologies is to be a breakthrough; the globalInternet of Things standards are not perfect and difficult to launch new applications;Internet of Things related to the perceptual identification, network communications andterminal applications, triggered concerns about its safety and privacy issues; the IPv4addresses is running out and the research on IPv6will take some time. The above-mentioned problems can be said both to be the bottleneck to limit thedevelopment of IoT and the opportunity to promote its fast progressing. This paper is based on the above problem and presents a realization of6LowPanunder Linux for IPv6based on perceived recognition layer of IoT. Believe that thisthesis can be conducive to a certain extent to poke a trace of fog in the current Internetof Things in the sky.
