Design And Implementation Of College Computer Labs Management System

With the development and wide use of computer and the expansion of collegecomputer labs, there comes the computer labs management system. The emergenceof this system is beneficial to manage large numbers of computers moreconveniently and more effectively. Meanwhile，it is labor-saving for the teachersin the computer labs and greatly increases the service efficiency of computers.With the upgrading from junior college to undergraduate college in2003, the scaleand the number of students of Hulunbuir College have enhanced a lot. Hulunbuir College hasput forward more advanced talent cultivating aims. To implement the aims of realizing thestudents’ high-level computer technique and making each student capable of grasping thebasic computer knowledge proficiently, the School of Computer Science and Technology ofHulunbuir College proposes the plan of teaching reform in common course of non computermajor, transforming the course sites from classrooms to computer labs, changing the teachingmethod from “teaching in classroom first then practice in computer labs” to “practicewhile teaching both in computer labs”. Meanwhile, our college will fund a certain portionof the capital for buying computers and renewing the equipments in computer labs, whichbring higher requirement to the management of the computer labs.This article analyzes the management actuality of the current college computer labs.Combined with the actual situation of computer labs management in our college, on the basisof the advantages and experience of computer labs management from other colleges, with thestarting point of strengthening the unified managing mode of computer labs, with the aimsof reforming the traditional managing mode of computer labs and enhancing the facilitiesmanagement and efficiency of computer labs, with the purpose of inspiring the students’innovation and leading the students to study actively, the paper proposes the collegecomputer labs management suitable for Hulunbuir College. The operation of the system willgreatly raise the utilization rate of computer labs, save a lot of manpower resources, andfulfill some functions as the students’ normal log-in and log-out in experimental coursesand their log-in at their own expense. What’s more, it realizes the administrators’ remotemanagement and operation to computer labs. It offers convenient operation interface, which makes all the students and teachers using this system more easily and handily.The paper permeates the application of UML, which includes the design andthe practice of each module of the system. It concretely explains the measureas how to implement the application design of C/S framework with the use of Delphi.The paper describes this system in three parts. The first part makes thefeasibility analysis of computer management system; the second part is aboutthe design of the system, which mainly introduces the function of the systemand the database design; the third part is about the implementation of the systemand it focuses the chief implement technique in the process of the exploitationof the system.The system sets up the data base of computer labs management by using theskill of SQL2000data base. The core mission of the system is facilitating theteachers in computer labs to finish their work, which consists of the functionalmodules of the log-in schedule before experiments, log-in management, equipmentmanagement, users’ management, and expenses management, etc. The system raisesthe management and service efficiency greatly by utilizing the labs resourcesreasonably.After constant tests and modifying, the system can be operated steadily and it canfulfill the expected functions. At present, it has been put into commission in the computerlabs in the School of Computer Science and Technology in Hulunbuir College and has broughtsatisfactory effects.In the practical tests and application, it is found that the system carriesthe characteristics of openness, easy maintenance, and stability, which alsoproves the success of the system development.
