Research On The Image Of Gansu Province Presenting In The Network Media

In our country, the process of urbanization is accelerated day by day and the regional competition becomes increasingly fierce.Area image plays a key role in constructing the regional soft strength,it has been on the agenda at present. Network media has become the main channel for the public to access to information, at the same time,it is an vital platform in showing the image of the area. news site,for the great of information,the wide of coverage and the high degree of attention, plays a pivotal part in creating and enhancing the area image especially.Gansu province is located in the west of China, the ability of communication has lagged behind other developed coastal city. The image of Gansu province failed to have significantly improved in recent years because of the closed concept and the backward technology. In order to ascend Gansu image, many problems need to be solved timely.It is necessary to use new ideas, integrate new resources and borrow the new media to redefine, package and shape the image of Gansu province.The paper takes Sina which is one of the most influential news website as the research object. Through the analysis of the reports of Gansu province, it can make a general understanding on image of Gansu province that presented in the network media.The results show that the reports of Gansu in Sina have its characteristics:less of quantity,low of attention,and the relevant reports mainly focus on social and political news.That negative news that accounted for most of reports often result in a tarnished image. In view of this, in this paper the author had a further analyze.First,the different level of regional economic development that cause de facto inequality in communication.Second,the public congnition has stereotypes.Third,the inefficient propaganda and the absence of agenda setting which is guided by the government. All of the above factors that are the prime reasons for the failure in improving the image of Gansu province.Through the analysis of the advantage in construction and spreading, some advices are given to how to improve the Gansu image.
