Design And Implementation Of Electronic Dictionary Clients Based On Android

As the most common language in the world, English is widely used in all walks of life. Learning English is always the essential needs of the groups of students, business people, research people and etc. The whole people in China will also usher in the boom to learn English in recent years. Simultaneously, the rise of the Mobile Internet and the popularity of the smart mobile devices provides an opportunity for the further development of Electronic Dictionary. Android platform with its excellent design of UI, a good user experience and the best application development technology, become the best choice for the electronic dictionary client. With Android occupying the market of global smart phone operating system in the first place, designing and realizing the Electronic Dictionary Clients based on Android provides the most fully featured and convenient mobile application tools for English fans to the greatest extent.The thesis first introduces the background of the project and its development situations. And then it details the Android operating system and application development technology. The requirements analysis of the Electronic Dictionary project and subsequent analysis of the functional requirements and nonfunctional requirements of the client is completed by the author. Further the paper describes the design of system architecture, the client architecture and the division of the client function modules. Finally it details the detailed design of each module of the client. Through research and analysis on the technical difficulties, solutions and specific implementations are proposed. The author participated in requirement analysis, outline design, testing, system optimization and phone adaptation in the project development. In the project the author independently designed and implemented Local Search module, Audio module, Information Collection module, User Settings module.This project is based on the Android platform. Research methods and techniques mainly involve the Android application development technology. After repeated testing in the Android devices, the client realize functions of Local search, Network search, New word note, pronounce, Information and information collection, History, User settings. The client has been officially released. Users can download the Electronic Dictionary Clients from the electronic market and use it for free.
