With the rapid development of computer network technology, network application anddeepening more and more popular, followed reveals the current network maintainability,maintenance costs are too high, transmission efficiency is low and heterogeneous nature ofsuch problems as compared to large extent affected the Internet’s practical application. Tosolve this problem, improve the existing network in recent years, foreign experts and scholarshave proposed a new adaptive function of cognitive networks, next generation networktechnology as the focus of the research.Cognitive network technology to present a relatively mature technology, cognitive radioresearch base, reference and integration of the cognitive process of the core technology,self-perceived ability to network conditions for the perceived means to adaptive learning, theproject, decision-making and operations to improve the network end to end transmissioncapacity, improve the efficiency of network maintenance.This article describes the research base in cognitive networks: cognitive radio, cognitivenetworks of the major technologies and research results of current routing protocols. Rightnow the most commonly used open source network simulation platform, the relevantprinciples of NS2detailed analysis and the research results through integrated foreign study,focusing on network simulation platform for understanding the characteristics and structurestudies.From the perspective of simulation, focusing on the cognitive characteristics of the nodesin the network environment are analyzed on the nodes in the multi-interface design ofmulti-channel structure based on the knowledge network for multi-channel transmissioncharacteristics, this innovative design out a cognitive network environment for networksimulation platform, in this network simulation platform, the node with multi-channeltransmission, and cognitive network environment can be a basic simulation of thetransmission, and then achieved the recognition know the basic simulation networkenvironment. Then two single-channel and multi-channel environment, the networkthroughput compared to verify the efficiency of the cognitive network.In addition, in the realization of cognitive network simulation platform based on theclassic by the existing routing protocols——AODV routing protocol and the DSDV routingprotocol simulation, the analysis of these two routing protocols in packet delivery ratio andpacket delay that based on two key indicators, combined with multi-channel environment, the characteristics of cognitive networks are proposed in the cognitive network environment, therouting protocol design should pay attention to the key issues and basic criteria to befollowed.
