The Design And Implementation Of Library Digital Resources Management System

With the rapid development of computer technology, network technology, remote communication technologies, storage technologies and multimedia technology, in particular the Internet technology with the rapidly growing popularity and applications in the whole world, the study on digital library at home and abroad in the theoretical becomes a fever. After the Chinese Government attached great importance to and vigorously support China’s digital library research and the rapid development of the building, the college also launched a digital library timely theoretical research and construction practice. Region workstations cultural resources of this unit is no longer limited to the use of physical media, but enlarge its use with more requirements: convenient, fast, practical and a wide range of information services. Under such a background, we embraced the beginning of the digital library building.In this paper, author first illustrates the background and development of digital libraries in the situation domestic, and outlines the main issues to be resolved as well as a brief introduction of the main technical and major contribution made by the system used. The system is designed as follows:Unified Modeling Language(UML)for the Analysis, Design Description Language to. Net framework for the technology platform with SQL Server Database design and implementation of a B/S structure digital library system. Based on software development and forefront of the development of technology, this paper studies and applies Microsoft.NET development platform framework, key technologies and core services.Digital library network management system is easy and convenient for retrieval at a glance with a variety of reading contents and information on the characteristics of easy expansion. The system will not only become the department’s knowledge base and library resources, attract new users to learn on line with the use of LAN resources, but also offer the network periodical services, directory, abstract, full-text retrieval, and other documentation services. This will make full use of library resources and avoid duplication of the waste caused by the construction.Based on the analysis, design and realization of a digital library system web site, the system can achieve all of the dynamic content management including navigation, full-text retrieval services, and safe, efficient, simple management. It enables user to quickly find, and read all digital resources from the network, so as to avoid wastage of resources that the existing resources are fully utilized. Eventually the system becomes an online digital library which is convenient, speedy, efficient and practical to provide resources for user.
