With the rapid development of science and technology, modern industry isgrowing fast, in this process, by use of modern large-scale mechanical equipments, itimproves the working productivity and reduces the cost of production, but on theother hand, once the equipment crashes, enormous damage from every aspect will bemultiplied. For decades, it’s common to see catastrophic accident took place throughmechanical equipment failure, which resulted unestimate economic loss, casualtiesand effected our society, Therefore, it is particularly important to use advancedequipment state monitoring system and breakdown testing technology, to detect anddiagnose the equipments, so as to improve the security, reliability, and workingperformance of the machinery equipments.This paper took08-32Tamping Machine as a object of study, which is a kind oflarge-scale road preserving machine,(it is an essential equipment for constructions ofnew railways), meanwhile, we designed a Tamping Machine state monitoring system.This monitoring system could collect the state information of the Tamping Machineon time, then make a preliminary analysis and save it. Meanwhile, it could send theinformation to monitoring center by using3G wireless communication technology,display the running state, master the condition of the equipment, report an emergencyof the breakdown on time, make an early diagnose and deal with it. In that case, wecould improve the quality, efficiency and maintenance level of the Tamping Machine.At the beginning, according to the research project purpose, contents andrequirements, this paper analyse the current research situation and developmenttendency of the online monitoring technology. At the second place, the paperintroduce the whole framework of the Tamping Machine state monitoring system,analyse the demand of the function and nature, illustrate the design thought of thesystem, confirm the monitoring project of Tamping Machine. This paper introducesthe whole monitoring system, which takes LPC2387chip as the core unit, it has powermanagement module design and data collection and communication device design,tells the condition of the monitoring data of comprehensive treatment. Analyse thedata individually according to the type of analog quantity, impulse quantity, and thenset up expert system to diagnose the fault by combining the breakdown treeCBR.Finally, measure the online monitoring system of the Tamping Machine,finish the CAN allocation,data collection and data communication,etc. The testing resultshows that this system works well, achieve system design purpose and performanceindicators, it has practical value.
