| In this thesis, a miniaturization X-band Frequency Synthesizer has been designedand fabricated using Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic(LTCC) technology. ThisFrequency Synthesizer,which with a small size, low spurious, low phase noisefeatures, suitable for airborne radar, missile radar and other small radar system.LTCC (Low-Temperature Co-fired Ceramic, LTCC) technology is a highlyintegrated multilayer packaging technology.The three-dimensional LTCC structureintroduce a new design for the traditional frequency synthesizer designed. This is thefirst in the frequency synthesizer design, using LTCC technology, the successfuldesign of the product, which is the miniaturization of the frequency synthesizer, laid agood foundation for the high-performance, high reliability.This study focuses on how the LTCC technology for the design of frequencysynthesizer, miniaturizationã€low phase noise〠low spurious. First, the indicatoraccording to the system and the LTCC process, we proposed a single loop PLLtechnology programs. PLL select HITTITE company HMC700, the loop filter isactive low-pass filter, VCO for a small volume MMIC VCO HMC583, its own fronttwo internal dividers. The PLL frequency synthesizer part use LTCC as basic PCB,and filter can integrated inside the substrate, it can realize the goal of miniaturization.Power supply and control board use FR4as basic PCB, PCB board and the LTCCboard using insulators connection. LTCC substrate, placing the active chip surface, theinner filter and lines buried, the filter uses1/4minor structures narrow cross-refers tothe filter. In the design, with ADIsimpll, Ansoft Designer, HFSS and other simulationsoftware, demonstrated the feasibility of the various parts.When the frequency synthesizer design has been completed, after tested, theoutput frequency of this frequency synthesizer is from11.5GHz to12.5GHz. Phase noise is-81dBc/Hz@1kHz, The volume of this frequency synthesizer is only20mm×20mm×3mm through proper arrangement.Experiments show that LTCC technology in frequency synthesizer design, inorder to achieve miniaturization is feasible. The research and implementation of theproject to promote the miniaturization of the frequency synthesizer plays a vital role. |
