Verification, validation and accreditation (VV&A) of modeling and simulation is theimportant way to inspect the credibility of modeling and simulation, so in recent years itobtains the fast development. Through a lot of domestic and foreign research and analysis ofVV&A materials, the concepts, principles, process, meaning and development prospect ofVV&A are summarized in this paper; and the relationship between VV&A and modeling andsimulation is analyzed.V&V mainly aim at the child models for inspection, each child models are credible, donot represent the complete system credible. So on this V&V later to the credibility of thewhole system evaluation. Reliability evaluation for the credibility of the simulation system, aswell as whether can be used for practical engineering. Therefore this paper first subsidiarymodels test, then the reliability evaluation. Confirm the each child model credible, finallyconfirmed the whole system can be applied to the actual system.Firstly, VV&A methods are used to arresting system of Mark7type Carrier-basedairplane, the structure, working principle and relationship between the various modules of thearresting system are analyzed,and then, the modeling and simulation is made for the system.Through the analysis of the process of modeling and simulation, the whole VV&A process ofthe arresting simulation system is got. The main models of arresting simulation system areverified, and then the credibility of the main models is got, it lies the foundation to credibilityevaluation of the arresting system.Secondly, the methods and application of VV&A are analyzed, and focuses on thecommon methods of simulation model validation. The data of simulation and the U.S.military test of arresting system of Mark7type Carrier-based airplane is used to simulationmodel validation, compares the various methods through the results of validation, and thenobtains the advantages, disadvantages, and application of various methods. Methods ofmathematical statistics are the maturest model validation method, but the applicable scope isinfluenced by many limitations. Spectral analysis methods are widely used as methods ofmodel validation, but only are applicable to stationary signal, the non-stationary signal shouldbe smooth processing. The time-frequency analysis methods are applied to non-stationarysignal, which can analyze the frequency variation with time.At last, Common methods of credibility evaluation of the simulation system areresearched systematically. And then the analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy comprehensiveevaluation method, and AHP-Fuzzy are introduced importantly. The AHP-Fuzzy is used to the arresting simulation system. Each performance index of the arresting system is analyzed, andthese indexes are stratified, the arresting simulation system is evaluated integrally. Not onlyevaluate the creditability of the arresting simulation system, also prove that this method ispractical.Because the calculation process of VV&A methods are complicated, so thecorresponding software tool is compiled, and the software tool is introduced and explained,and the software tool is used to the arresting simulation system.
