Design And Implementation Of Conformance Testing System For PIM-SM Protocol Based On TCL

With the development of information technology, the network has become oneimportant part of life. Communication of device in the network depends on the networkprotocol, therefore, whether implementations of the protocol module of these device arein accordance with the appropriate protocol standards, will affect the inter-cooperation ofdevice in the network, which is a focus of the network research, which also engenders theresearch of the network protocol conformance testing.Between unicast and broadcast is a means of communication named multicast.Compared with the way of unicast, which characterizes for point to point, multicast deferspacket replication, reduces network bandwidth and improves network sharing rate. Morethan in the broadcast to all, multicast can target a specific group of recipients, also save thenetwork bandwidth while improving data security. Multicast has been widely used indistance education, online video, online games and many other fields. ProtocolIndependent Multicast Sparse Mode, with the dependence underlying unicast protocol,through the "pull" type to set up forwarding tree, is the most widely used multicastprotocol.A design and implementation of conformance testing system for PIM-SM protocolbased on TCL is proposed. Using the distributed virtual test method, the test system canstimulate virtual auxiliary test equipment to meet the needs of a variety of complex testtopology. After formalized description of the PIM-SM protocol standard, the test scriptsand test suites are built based on the Tool Command Language. Then in the actual devicefor PIM-SM protocol conformance test system has been tested, and test results areanalyzed. In the end, the deficiency of the test system and the prospect for future researchare epitomized.
