| With the rapid development of military technology and information technology, the demands onthe performance of radar are increasing, so it is extremely important to shorten the researchingand developing term of radar system including design, debug and field experiment. In modernelectronic warfare environment, the signal pattern and density is more complicate. Simulatingrealistic radar signal environment can reduce the development cost of the radar signal processingdevice and accelerate the development term. This article describes the design and realization of aradar echo simulator, mainly including:System design of a Radar echo simulator based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP). The simulatorcan achieve multi-moving-target radar echo signal simulation. It is adapt to various radar mainwaveform through DSP programming. It is connect to the host computer by USB interface. Thehost computer sends the target position, distance, speed and other parameters to the simulator.And the simulator sends the feedback information to the host computer for display and otherfunctions.Software design of the simulator. The simulation modeling is divided into target model andenvironment model. Using linear superposition method to achieve the simulation of radar echosignal. The simulation algorithm is verified by Matlab and translated to DSP program. The PCsoftware design complete the targets and environment parameter settings, USB datacommunication and display functions.Hardware design of the simulator. The design is based on DSP+FPGA (Field-ProgrammableGate Array) system architecture, and contains op amp, filter module and storage module for theIF output. The main functions include timing and interface control, echo signal computing anddigital quadrature up-converting.Provide a summary of the research results and prospect of future work.Through above-mentioned work, the simulator is capable for mutiple radar systems with goodflexibility and convenient interface. |
