With the development of information technology and network technology, the digitizeddesign technology has been widely used in product development, which results in a largenumber of electronic documents. The electronic document is very different from thetraditional paper files. It brings new challenges regarding management methodology andwork processes. At the same time, the enterprise information islet has brought a series ofdifficulties to the utilization of digitized document resources. The metadata management ofelectronic files and the sharing, transmission and utilizing the digitized archive resources, allneed the integration of archive management system and other business systems. In suchcircumstance, the research of archive management system and PDM system integration,building a integrated module to transmit the product data in the PDM system to archivemanagement system, realizing the automatic online archiving of product data, has great valuein engineering application.This thesis analyzes the technology used on integrating the archive management systemand the PDM system, carries out the integrated system model, and also analyzes the needs ofsystem integration per the features of the product and the archive management business,states the structure, design and implementation of integrating the archive management systemand PDM system. At last, the thesis verifies the feasible of proposed integration structure byactual cases. The researches done are as follows:1Analysis of the difference between the structures of archive management system andthe PDM system, proposes the integration model of archive management system and PDMsystem based on Web Services technology. The integration of archive management systemand the PDM system will be a one-way data transmission process, which means it only needsto transmit the product data from PDM system to archive system, and the transmission in the opposite way will be not needed. A “waiting to be archived” data processing module usedin PDM system and a archive processing module used on archive management system areneeded to fulfill the integration of the two systems.2Analysis of the scope and the current situation of archive management and a detailanalysis of the needs on the content and data processing of system integration. The content ofintegration of archive management system and PDM system covers the technical documents,drawing data and relevant metadata in the product development. The integration also needs toprocess the technical documents, drawing data and relevant metadata to meet the demand ofproduct development and archive management.3Completes the detail design and realization of integrated system structure,“waiting tobe archived” data processing module and archive processing module, and the detail designof the database is also done. The design of archive processing module uses Visual Studio2005as development platform, C#as development language, Oracle as database server,Windows Server2003+IIS6.0as deploy environment.“Waiting to be archived” dataprocessing module uses JAVA as the development language. In archive processing module,the FileWebService is designed for physical document transmission and archiving, and thePDMWebService is designed for metadata archiving and integrated data processing.4Completes the verification of the system integration. By actual cases, a functionalverification is made on the integration of the two systems. A detail analysis on the effects likearchive format, promptness and integrity of archive is also made.This thesis improves the archive efficiency, optimizes the archive processes, furtherimplements the informatization of archive management by research on the integration ofarchive management system and PDM system.
