Webservices-based SNMP Network Management Research And Implementation

Today's networks become very complex, In particular the extensive usage of Web technology made many traditional applications became out-dated. Traditional simple network protocol can no longer meet the demand for network management. The forefront of today's network management technology was the use of XML as a message packet,it makes XML-based network management had many advantages. However, because of SNMP network technology at the current popularity of many network applications, network management for XML application of new technologies posed a substantial obstacle. How to integrated the old and the new technology, so that we can kept up with the international network management research in the field of pace, successfully entered the forefront of the field of network management, provided a smooth transition of the theoretical basis of practice to network management in the area of our country was of great significance.SNMP protocol has been the application of 20-year history, became the industry standard actually. The network equipment manufactures were in favor of its simplicity and practicality ,and made SNMP technology into product designs. A lot of Investment mean that XML management technology would not be able to completely replace the technology based on SNMP network management in a short period. This paper presented the usage of implementation of the original SNMP agent package with multiple middleware. SNMP API were transformed into the form of WebServices through middleware, manage sever call the Webservices to manage the network. This has been substantial implementation of the network equipment upgrade.Based on the analysis of SNMP architecture, based on the SNMP agent software and Webservice technology to study and explore, and we design a SNMP / Webservice network Model with several middleware. The system performance was stable, be able to cross-platform, used SOAP protocol as the transport protocol .The SNMP / Webservice network management framework, design structure, MIB Library operation, webservice Construction and call, A comprehensive introduction to the various modules of the system functions and implementation methods will be introduced through specific experiments.At last, we summarized the full text and gave a technical outlook.
