DBS is a kind of technique to enhance lateral resolution of radar image, which usesthe different Doppler Frequency caused by the different speed of the target relative tothe radar. It is often used to radar with narrow beam, of which the synthetic aperturetime is short. It works in scanning the beam to form an image of a wide groundscene.DBS technique can provide reference for the location of the target detected toattack more accurately and effectively, it can also be used in trajectory navigation,landform matching, etc.The paper studies the technique of DBS from the view of engineering realization,Main system parameters of DBS technology are Discussed in detail, Including Dopplercenter, The number of pulses accumulated and Sharpening ratio. According to the basicprinciple of DBS imaging and combining the current technological ability of digitalsignal processing based on field programmable gates array (FPGA), this paper deeplyexplore the realizing method on DBS imaging system based on FPGA. The system isrealized by mapping DBS imaging algorithm to hardware system of FPGA, whichsolves the crucial problems of FPGA and DSP cooperative processing with thetechnology of combining temporal distribution, expansions and combinationsalgorithm’s realization and the basic skills of paying attention to assembly line andparallel processing. It greatly enhanced the operation’s precision and speed of DBSimaging system. Through the simulation test and design, this system also has thecharacteristics of real-time and high-performance, which well meet the DBS real-timeimaging requirements.
