Composition Principle And Test Of PND Series Products

PND (Portable Navigation Device) is one of the current hot navigation products. It can be used as handheld or onboard devices. Besides navigation, it has other functions such as multimedia, Bluetooth, FM transmitter and other communications and entertainment functions including GPRS, WIFI, TMC, etc. Since PND pursues multiple functions, it results in the complexity in the design and severe challenges in testing the product. To improve the quality of the product and ensure that products meet design requirements, product function tests should be added in the process of developing and producing. At present, the testing techniques of the PND serial products are still remain to be studied in China.Based on the in-depth analysis of the software、hardware platform features of PND products、GPS positioning principle and the NMEA-0183protocol format, this paper mainly makes an analysis of the aspect of the operating principle、data interface、data format and the functional parameters of the following modules such as GPS module、 GPRS module、BlueTooth module、MIT module、Copy map module、PT module、 WatchDog module and RDS module according to the requirements of the document prepared for product test. And then put forward the test method, complete the UI design and code development of the test case with VC++respectively. Finally, evaluate the test results. During the process, each test case adopts the user-friendly interface and integrates test parameters with test results in order to provide convenience for the production line staff; it takes full account of reusability, portability and maintainability of the code in the design. The function test method proposed by this paper has been employed in the internship company for the PND production during the stage of trial production and mass production and achieves good results.
