SCTP-CMT (stream control transport protocol-based concurrent multipath transfer)has earned more and more attention because of its multihoming and multistreamcharacteristic. But the available SCTP-CMTs mainly adapt wire network only, withouttaking into the interference and path failure. So, in the overlapping coverage area ofmulti-AP within dense WLAN, the current SCTP-CMT will encounter the problem ofout-of-order severely. The goal of this paper is to design a WLAN SCTP-CMT schemewith high efficiency, which can make full use of the resources within dense WLAN,reduce the possibility of out-of-order and improve the rate of data transmission.Firstly, this paper analyzes the basic characteristics and the basic functions of theSCTP, especially the multihoming and multistream, and also analyzes the keyproblems and key technologies of the SCTP-CMT. Then, based on the analysis of theWLAN characteristics and the end-to-end dealy, this paper gives a SCTP-CMT packetscheduling algorithm aiming at minimizing the number of out-of-order packets, andalso verifies the algorithm’s advantage using matlab simulations. Then this paper givesa fast retransmission policy based on path’s packet rate of succesful transmissionAt last, this paper builds a test platform of SCTP-CMT in Linux, successfullydemonstrating that SCTP-CMT can improve the rate of data transmission, and itvisualizes the platform with QT.
