Meteor Burst Communication is a kind of burst communications with features of sudden and instability. Multi-path delay and fast fading are key factors which will degrade the communication performance seriously. As a result, efficient error control technology plays an important role in Meteor Burst Communication. A link transport protocol which is fit for Meteor Burst Communication is researched. It indicates that a suitable transport protocol can improve the transfer efficiency of the data. The main contributions of the thesis are as follows:Firstly, A method of imitation Meteor Burst Communication channel is proposed. The channel model with it can imitate the practical meteor channel characteristics and the verification of link-layer protocol is supported. The hybrid ARQ scheme is discussed further based on the research of Meteor Burst Communication System channel characteristics, and consequently an improved go back N ARQ protocol is designed combined with Meteor Burst channel. Then, the link-layer protocol is realized with C language ground on the embedded Linux system; in addition, the indoor experiment and outdoor test about this protocol is completed. At last, an adaptive ARQ protocol which is quite suited to Meteor Burst Communication is proposed according to the problem and phenomenon from testing. What’s more, the performance of the protocol is simulated. It showed that not only the average retransmission number of time is reduced, but also the average throughput is improved with it. In conclusion, it provides a reference for the performance improvement of Meteor Burst Communication system.
