Distributed control system is a computer control system with scattered control functions&concentrated operation and management as the main characteristics. Since it has high reliability, the perfect function and flexibility for an advantage, now DCS has become the mainstream of industrial automatic control system. Nowadays many kinds of DCS are running in field of industrial control, which are provided by different corporations and own their particular configuration environments. In this general configuration platform, the configuration environments of several kinds of DCS have been integrated into a compatible configuration interface, and the control parameters and algorithms of this platform are completely from the algorithm library of one designated DCS. It supports users to configure, compile, load, run, monitor, modify on line and so on. Meanwhile, the function of this configuration platform has a good sense of reality. Therefore, this platform can meet different DCS training requirements of thermal staff from different power stations and get significant savings in expenses. In a word, the development of general DCS configuration platform has bright future and active practice significance.The core technology of the platform is the conversion and run of configured logics among different kinds of DCS. In this paper, the analysis and research have been taken on this core technology. The platform is built based on Ovation of Westinghouse Corporation. Through establishing the algorithm conversion database among different DCS, the general DCS configuration platform can be implemented. Design of structure of the platform has been illustrated in this paper, taking the case of simulating Symphony system, the conversion relationships of algorithms between Symphony and Ovation, the binding between algorithms in configuration graph and the existent algorithms in Ovation, the generation of the executable binary file in DPU of Ovation and the development of data monitor have also been introduced. The research result shows that the platform has a good sense of reality which can be used to provide thermal training for thermal staff from different power stations.
