Along with the sustained and rapid development of the Internet andthe popularization of personal computers, a variety of value-addedmultimedia and data services shows surge in momentum. But as the businessdevelopment and communication needs increasing, the original broadbandaccess technology has been unable to meet the huge demand. Old accesstechnology in multi-service bearer capability, reliability,maintainability, and other aspects have their own limitations. how tobuild a enterprise access network,which can Adapt to the customer demandof most businesses, capable of carrying various business management, andeasy to maintain,has become the top priority of the operators. So as toshow the prominence and importance of the access network, so manytechnologies along with access network is experimented, it is found thatGPON is the best structure which integrated with network. GPON techniqueis an significant technical branch of PON, it is similar to such techniquesas APON/BPON and EPON etc.GPON is assumed to be one of the most promising optical access networkin the next2-3years. This treatise keeps a foothold on the enterprises’internal requirements for sustainable development, by analyzes thecase,it is found that GPON takes the place of XDLS in the broadband networkconstruction to investigate GPON’s application as the new technology ofthe broadband access. Firstly, the paper introduces the passive optical network, carrieson the summary to the present standard of FTTx technology, PON mainstream.A brief description of the principle, advantages and key technology ofGPON. Then the practical application of GPON technology in theconstruction of the existing communication network.The paper focuses on GPON access network technology in the applicationof the user model and its applications in broad band city access network.First, according to the needs of the operators, a GPON networkconstruction in a detailed analysis, including network planning anddesign, access solutions, engineering and cost analysis. Through theanalysis of the real case, clear at this stage a large-scale networkingreasonable way of GPON technology.
