With the development of the economic and the expansion of the enterprise, many enterprises have established the ERP information management system to increase the production. In today’s rapid development of information technology, traditional ERP system cannot reach the growing requirements on business. Through the mobile communication technology, mobile ERP users can freely access the data and information in ERP server to improve the efficiency of business operations. Now the popular operating systems of the mobile phone are iPhone OS, Windows Phone, Android, etc. The more mainstream Android system is based on the Linux kernel and Java interface. Therefore, to develop the mobile ERP system for the mobile operating system which is based on Android platform, we can use J2ME as the mobile client to access the wireless network, and use J2EE to develop and deploy the enterprise server side.Firstly, this paper discusses the existing state and currently facing problems of the mobile ERP for the necessary of developing the mobile ERP system which is based on J2ME/J2EE.We analysis the business process for mobile ERP system on this basis. The functional requirement for the mobile ERP mainly focuses on inventory management, purchasing, sales management and customer relationship management. Then, we design the overall architecture of the mobile ERP by using modular approach, achieve the transmission of information by packaging and resolving the XML file format, and build the mobile network services by the Web Service which is released by the J2ME client and J2EE server-side. On J2EE server, we use the Servlet technology to implement the response for web service and the EJB technology for processing the business logic and interacting with the database. Finally, we summarize the design of the mobile ERP system, analyze the scalability and look ahead for the applicable potential.
