With the rapid development of the Internet, people’s requirements to stability andreliability of the network have being increased highly. High-end routers as a keyequipment in the network system, its reliability could directly determine whether thewhole network can work normally. Therefore, people’s production and lives can beimproved by increasing the router reliability. Based on technology perspective ofimprove the reliability of the router, this paper analyzes the advantages anddisadvantages of Graceful-Restart technology (GR) which be used widely in high-endrouter.And in the light of the shortcoming of the GR technology, we propose a newtechnology: Non-Stop-Routing (NSR).This paper based on High Ability(HA) channel and mainly analyzed and designedOSPFv3NSR system as the most typical example of OSPFv3protocol for instance. Inthis thesis, OSPFv3data is divided into six categories, from respectively batchpreparation and real preparation designed to achieve data backup scheme and datarecovery scheme. Besides, providing a specific solution for the situation that the backupof failure at the recovery process. The experiments show that OSPFv3NSR system caneffectively improve reliability, reduce the effect of interruption to customer and networkoperators.This topic comes from a company "OSPFv3router reliability" project.We verifythe validity and effectiveness of OSPFv3NSR through practical applications.After all,OSPFv3NSR still has many deficiencies which need to be further improved, such as theway of reducing router flap in board.
