Research On Single Shaping Reflector Antenna

Abstract/Summary:
Shaping techniques of single reflector antenna are studied in terms of both singlefeed and muti-feed in this paper. The specific research work and results about singlereflector antenna are as follows:Firstly, the electrical characteristics of parabolic antenna with array feeds wereresearched in this paper. Parabolic antenna with uniform linear array feed, uniformsquare array feed and uniform circular array feed were found in the electromagneticanalysis software Grasp. Then the electrical characteristics of the models were alsosimulated and analyzed by Grasp. The effects of parabolic a ntenna pattern on thenumber and spacing of uniform linear and square array feed was studied. In this paper,more attention was paid on the directivity diagram effects and differences caused by thefeed quantity, radius of uniform single lap and multi-lap.Secondly, shaping research on single feed parabolic antenna was discussed in thispaper. Direct shaping method is used for the shaping design of the given parabolicantenna with single offset feed. PO analysis method was used in our research, and theshape of the reflector was described by a complete set of orthogonal Zernikepolynomials. The far-field Gain of sampling point was calculated using Grasp softwarewith the technology of PO analysis. By calling Grasp in Matlab, we achieved creatingthe model and optimizing the Zernike coefficients of the reflect surface to make theshaped reflector antenna to achieve the required far-field pattern. At last, wesuccessfully realized the shaping design of a single-feed single-reflector antenna, andthe gain pattern can cover the African region.
