Design And Implementation Of HIMAC Protocol Testing Based On TTCN-3

HINOC(High performance Network Over Coax) is a totally new broadband accesstechnology under the background of triple play. It uses the out-of-band channel ofCATV in already existing coaxial cable distribution network to provide high-speed andmulti-services without employing any extra cable. As a new generation access networkwith our own intellectual property, HINOC conforms to the situation in China. Theprotocol standard has been released, the research of related device will be developed. Inorder to ensure the different devices from different manufacturers can interconnect witheach other successfully, it is necessary to have protocol testing.Based on the clear understanding of specifications of HINOC, this paper makes adetailed analysis of signaling protocol test on MAC layer and confirms methods andframework of protocol testing, then the design of abstract test suite withTTCN-3(Testing and Test Control Notation version3) core language is treated.Following work focuses on the implementation of test system. Under the framework ofTTCN-3series standard, the real test system already has been built with TTworkbenchsoftware and HINOC simulator hardware. Up to now, all the test cases have beenexecuted in test system and the result of testing also has been released with analysis.
