With the development of the science and technology, fingerprint identification technology is widely used in the field of identity recognition. Fingerprint identification is convenient, and have high efficiency, security and reliability. It has also been applied in many fields such as financial security, data encryption and electronically business and will play a more and more important role in our future life necessarily. However, due to the complexity and uncertainty of fingerprint identification, there are still many problems to be resolved for further improvement of AFIS.Based on the existed researches, this thesis mainly researches the preprocessing and features eatracting algorithms of fingerprints. In t he beginning of this thesis, the history and conceptions in each steps of the entire fingerprint identification system is introduced.The main tasks include the following:1. Pre-processing of fingerprint image.Firstly.the collected fingerprint images have been normalized by the method,which perform excellently,especially on dim image. In the fingerprint image enhancement process. I introduces the Gabor filter enhancement algorithm, this paper used a circular Gabor filter to the fingerprint image enhancement and get a good result。In the fingerprint image in refining, I raise an improved algorithm based on OPTA algorithm and fast thinning algorithm in the fingerprint thinning. The algorithm combines the advantages of fast algorithm and the thought of OPTA refined algorithm template. Experiment Result Indicate that the results are improved.2. In the fingerprint, I use a fingerprint matching algorithm based on ant colony algorithm. When the collected fingerprint image quality is better, just need ascertain the translation, rotation and scale parameters. Ant colony algorithm, with its superiority in optimizing well positioned to meet the above requirements. In order to overcome the defect that ant colony algorithm is easy to fall into the local best feature point, I use simulated annealing algorithm to improve.
