With the development of computer technology, the range of embedded systemapplications is too numerous to mention. In a modern society, embedded applicationsis used in almost all of the areas, and there is a great significance to promote theusing of the real-time operating system. In the first, this paper describes the background, significance of the research, thecurrent research status and main contents of embedded system device drivers.Secondly, put forward three tasks base on the main contents of the research, the firsttask is systematic analyzing and detailed understanding about the kernel structure ofμC/OS-Ⅱ and device drivers, focus on analyzing the task’s management andscheduling, synchronous communication between tasks, time management, andmemory management etc. The second task is to know how to port the μC/OS-Ⅱ todifferent processors by analyzing and detailed understanding about the kernelprinciple and structure of μC/OS-Ⅱ embedded real-time operating system, at thesame time, achieves the porting in the hardware platforms and testing the code. Thethird task is to design and write a independently framework of device driver whichapplies on the μC/OS-Ⅱ real-time operating system based on analysis the devicedriver, and discusses the interrupt handling and polling functions of device driver inthe meanning time.Try to establish driver modules for devices of μC/OS-Ⅱ kernel, focus on the design of LCD driver module, to make a development rule-based fordevelope a driver on this basis, which will save the development time. Inspectnumbers of popular operating systems, we can see each of them have a thoroughdevice management solutionsFinally, give a brief summary about the main contents of this paper. Meanwhile, this paper also realistic points out that the shortcomings and problems of itself, anddetermines the new direction which need more efforts to study and research in thefuture.
