With the popularization of information technology, as well as the great improvement of people’s living, digital home network has been in human’s vision. Digital home network is a family information platform, integrated of control network and multimedia network. Various communication amonghousehold appliances and data exchange with different interconnect (Ethernet, WiFi, BlueTooth, etc.), in order to achieve "interoperability" of devices. The demand of remote control UPnP equipments’is also growing strongly.Currently, UPnP protocal is the most widely used digital family agreement, which is to achieve interoperability of smart devices with "zero-configuration" and to achieve seamless connection of devices from different manufacturers;UPnP is a family standardization technology based on multicast,but the ISP do not provide forwarding services based on multicast, which resulted in the limitations of UPnP technology using: users can only communicate with each other and share media resources within the family, and can’t manage and control the digital home out of the LAN.In recent years, social networking sites have become the focus of the Internet development.In the short term, they gathered a huge amount number of users and applications. SNSis also developed from the original dating purpose to application platform. The SNS support OpenSocial specification, and Gadget is a standard data model of OpenSocial, which can be developed and deployed to any social networking site. Therefore, the paper presents the system implementation of the remote control UPnP digital home network with the OpenSocial Gadget. To combine UPnP protocol and SNS to achieve remote call the UPnP service system. When accessing OpenSocial Gadget application, users are able to call the UPnP service deployed in home gateways, ultimately achieve the purpose of remote control UPnP devices in the home network.Firstly, do in-depth analysis to the UPnP protocol:Introduction of the agreement, protocol stack, basic components, working principle and AV standard; and then propose a UPnP remote control implementations; Secondly, brief the concept of OpenSocial standard, SNS, OpenSocial Gadget; At last, elaborated specific design of two subsystems:SNS subsystem and Gateway subsystem.
