With the development of computer, communication and digital video technology, consumers are becoming more demanding toward video display technology, nowadays consumers not only want to obtain information from the television and network, but also want to abtain more immersive stereoscopic from viewing experience. In this context, three-dimensional display technology has been developing rapidly, became the popular topic of research in the field of image and video processing technology, and provide a more effective way to understand the world.However, the relatively mature3D display technology requires viewers to wear stereoscopic glasses and other ancillary equipment to watch, stereo glasses and other equipments not only extremely inconvenient, but the price is expensive, in addition, viewers experience the process are prone to dizziness, nausea and other discomfort. The naked eye3D display technology allows viewers don’t wear other auxiliary equipments and yet able to experience the3D effect, and the naked eye3D technology can also significantly reduce the economic costs, therefore research the high performance, low-cost naked eye three-dimensional display system has important theoretical significance and application value.This paper researched on the naked eye stereoscopic display technology on the basis of the theory of three dimension display, according to the different way which used in separating the left eye disparity image and the right eye disparity image, the paper discussed two different kinds of naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display systems. They are the naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display system that is based on the parallax barrier and the naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display system that is based on the Philips3D monitor. The main content of the paper is as follows.1. Based on the human visual system to achieve the mechanism, discussed the principle of the naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display, and designed the parallax barrier according to the system requirements. Build the matlab simulation model of the naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display to verify the correct of the naked three dimension model according to the simulation results.2. Build the hardware platform of the naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display system that is based on the Philips3D display monitor, analysis the process of data transmission and the method of data transmission, design the software according to the requirement of data translate, debug the system in ISE and transplant the software that was debugged successfully in to FPGA chip.3. On the basis of the matlab simulation model, build the hardware platform of the naked three stereoscopic display system that based on the parallax barrier, then, design the software of the system according to the matlab simulation model, debug the system in ISE, finally, transplant the software that was debugged successfully in to FPGA chip.4. Compare and analysis the results of the two kinds of naked eye three-dimensional stereoscopic display system, the results show that the naked eye three-dimensional system that based on Philips3D display has the stronger stereoscopic depth perception, the3D effect is better.
