With the expansion of the development of information technology and social space,people for identity authentication accuracy and real-time performance have higherrequirements, the human fingerprint because of its advantages of unique, stable and highdegree of recognition, has been widely used in many fields of financial transactions, criminalinvestigation, public security. The traditional fingerprint recognition system is large, slowspeed and poor portability, making it difficult to transplant to the embedded system. In viewof the above problems, this paper optimized the existing fingerprint algorithm, combined withthe characteristics of embedded processor, research and design a fast, identification of goodand veracity of identification of the fingerprint identification system.Through the integrated development environment Quartus Ⅱ design software of Alteracompany SOPC learning, to master the design process of the system design software SOPCBuilder, using the system software and hardware design and Nios Ⅱ specific IP core arecombined to improve the performance of the system. Through the analysis of the principle offingerprint identification, in the structure, data transmission on Nios Ⅱ soft core Processor andimprove the existing fingerprint algorithm, aiming at the design of embedded fingerprintidentification system demand, put forward a fingerprint recognition system based on Nios Ⅱsoft-core processor design thought and the realization process. The main work of this paperare as follows:Study on the principle of fingerprint identification and fingerprint image processingalgorithms, including preprocessing, each step of the algorithm and the formation offingerprint feature template matching, based on the hardware characteristics of FPGA and theoptimization of the existing algorithms, the idea of a complete from the fingerprint imagepreprocessing algorithm of fingerprint matching.Combined with the characteristics of a soft-core microprocessor and fingerprint sensorFPS200, designed a hardware platform based on embedded fingerprint identification Nios Ⅱmicroprocessor. Using SOPC Builder to complete the interface circuit, the fingerprint sensordesign and recognition system of peripheral interface circuit, the power and clock circuit, memory circuit, LCD display design of main hardware circuit, FPGA configuration circuit,the simulation function and timing of the circuit principle diagram is given.Integrated fingerprint recognition algorithm and hardware platform structure, in the NiosⅡ IDE, driver and hardware fingerprint recognition algorithm, and successfully compiled inPC and simulation, then transplanted to the Nios Ⅱ embedded development board.To optimize the system using Nios Ⅱ user custom instructions and hardware logicoperation module, completed the custom instruction and hardware image normalizationoperation module multiplication, division and square root calculation.Finally, this article summarizes the work, points out the deficiencies and theimprovement target system, has made the forecast to the next work.
