Research On Long Stay Tourism Development In Xianning City

Foreign scholars predicted that around 2015, developed countries will gradually enter into the "leisure age ", and developing countries were likely to follow up, the leisure industry would be the first engine to promote the global economic growth. There are only four years from this year to the year of 2015. The predicting time is approaching, which means that the age of leisure is coming. In fact, several years ago, some countries in Europe and America entered into "leisure age". Traditional sightseeing, traveling and visiting will be replaced by diverse forms of tourism. Such as, venturing tourism, studying tourism, religion tourism and so on. Long stay tourism, as a new and sustainable mode of tourism, it develops very well in some countries. And it will be the attracted form of tourism in the future, and more and more people will like long stay tourism. Long stay tourism rose in Japan 20 years ago. Now in Europe, America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan a island in China, the long stay tourism is grown up into a mature tourism, in these countries and regions, long stay tourism is accepted by more and more people and it forms a relatively completed tourism system. A lot of persons have chosen this form of tourism. But it is just in the burgeoning in the mainland of China. This concept was transformed into China several years ago. Some experts have seen the important role of the long stay tourism, and they expected that the long stay tourism would be the most important mode and proper mode of tourism in China. Some experts proposed the development of long stay tourism in Hainan Province, the idea was discussed and accepted by some people. According to the long stay standards, we can find out that a lot of places in China are suitable to develop this kind of tourism. The increasing aging population in the world and aging population in China is an opportunity for me to put forward this theme and object, and after think for a long time I began to write this thesis: the development of long stay tourism in Xianning. After considering the natural resources, hygiene conditions, public securities and some other factors. The author thinks that Xianning city can be developed into a very good long stay destination. On the basement of analyzing the theory of leisure and recreation tourism, defining the long stay tourism, analyzing the current situations and the problems, issues. For key issues, I use SWOT analysis to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Through questionnaires on the tourist market, tourist market preferences to get the statistics and information of Xiannning long stay development. And at last, I got some very useful statistics. On the basis of above statistics, concepts, related theories and especially the sustainable tourism theory, put forward a series of strategies to achieve a better development of the long stay tourism in Xianning city. In order to achieve the ideal social goals, economic goals and environmental goals in long stay tourism development in xianning, the thesis also puts forward some necessary measures. At the same time, I hope that the study in this paper can give some references, effects and help to the similar cities in China.
